Korean legal technology startup LBox has successfully completed one of the largest Series C funding rounds in the domestic legal technology sector, raising KRW 30 billion. The funding round was led by Kiwoom Investment with participation from Legend Capital.
Founded in 2019 by a former Kim & Chang lawyer, LBox has established itself as a dominant player in Korea’s legal technology market, serving over 20,000 lawyers and more than 1,400 institutional clients.
The company’s flagship AI service, LBox AI, has gained significant traction. Within just one year of its beta launch, the service attracted 23,000 users, demonstrating strong market adoption.
The platform leverages Korea’s largest database of court decisions, containing 4.1 million cases, along with exclusive legal content and advanced data processing and search technologies. This comprehensive database gives LBox a competitive advantage in providing accurate and relevant legal insights.
Based on this investment funding, LBox plans to fully launch its on-premises AI business this year, which will integrate public institution data with LBox’s existing data infrastructure.
