Four South Korean startups have secured their spots in the upcoming Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) Finals, set to take place in Saudi Arabia.
The Entrepreneurship World Cup stands as one of the most extensive and diverse pitch competitions globally, offering substantial support to emerging businesses. Each year, the event attracts tens of thousands of entrepreneurs from 200 countries, all vying for a share of the US$1 million cash prize pool. Beyond the monetary rewards, participants also compete for millions of dollars worth of investments, support, and publicity through national pitch competitions, bootcamps, and the global finals event, which draws attention from leading investors worldwide.
In the Korean preliminary round, 13 teams out of 106 applicants were selected to present their innovations. From this competitive field, four outstanding startups earned the right to represent South Korea at the EWC Finals, which will be held as part of BIBAN 2024. In 2021, TODOC, an electroceutical startup from South Korea making cochlear implants more accessible to individuals with hearing loss, won the competition.
