14 Korean Robotics Startups Meets Media Press

Startup Alliance held a press day event on 24th to foster connections between the media and burgeoning robotics startups. The event, centered around the theme of robotics startups, commenced at 7 PM with light finger foods, followed by one-minute company presentations and open networking sessions.

Among the participating startups were

Navifra:This company offers high-precision autonomous driving software for logistics robots, robot control software, and control tower solutions. They possess technology enabling indoor and outdoor autonomous driving based on multi-sensors and precise location estimation using only 2D LiDAR sensors. Their main products include NaviCore and NaviBrain. Navif has secured Series A funding from FuturePlay and KB Investment.

Dogugonggan: Specializing in autonomous robot platforms and intelligent robot patrol, Dogugonggan manages everything from robot manufacturing to solution development in-house. Their robots feature edge AI-based real-time detection and alerts for 14 types of risks and can patrol anywhere with complete indoor and outdoor autonomous navigation. They received Series A investment from Samik Mats Venture Capital.

RLWRLD: RLWRLD is engaged in the research and development of a robotics foundation model based on its proprietary AI architecture and AI-robot interoperability technology. They have assembled a team of six world-renowned professors to tackle challenges that are difficult for general engineers. RLWRLD has attracted seed investment from Hashed, Mirae Asset Venture Investment, and Global Brain.

Riibotics: Formerly known as Team Robotics, Rebotics provides industrial autonomous forklift solutions that can be implemented in Brownfield environments without the need for additional infrastructure. The company is now focusing on global market expansion, particularly targeting the North American market. They have received seed funding from Mashup Ventures and Seoul National University Technology Holdings.

DIDEN Robotics: This startup develops industrial quadruped robots specialized for work in hazardous steel environments. They have signed robot sales contracts with major shipyards, and their key development team members are alumni of the KAIST Bipedal Robot Research Center (Hubo Lab), with ongoing collaboration with Hubo Lab. Didn Robotics received seed investment from Bluepoint Partners.

Studio Lab: Studio Lab offers AI-based automated shooting robots and studios capable of shooting and editing. They create automated solutions using robots, including a generative AI service for automatic detailed page creation, and operate GENCY Studio at Busan Station, where AI robots handle the photography. The company has raised a pre-Series A round from SBI Investment, D2SF, and Dcamp.

Aidall: Aidall develops small intelligent robots based on autonomous driving technology for path planning. As a high-tech AI company spanning robotics, complex systems optimization, and neuromorphic computing, their mission is to restore individuals’ autonomy over their own bodies through technology. They have received seed funding from Korea Science & Technology Holdings.

Able Labs: Able Labs manufactures automated robots for bio-laboratory liquid handling, pipetting, and screening. They provide laboratory automation robots, diagnostic automation robots, and fully automated laboratory platform solutions and are currently involved in large national projects, with their products being used by leading domestic bio-production companies. Able Labs has secured pre-Series A investment from FuturePlay and Mirae Asset Venture Investment.

Xyz: Utilizing AI, autonomous driving, and robotics technologies, Xyz develops service robots, with a focus on coffee-serving robots. The company has achieved profitability and accumulated sales of 20 billion KRW. They have received Series A funding from Samsung Venture Investment, Zerone, and Korea Investment Partners.

Watt: Watt provides a robot-based delivery service for offices and apartment complexes. Their solution consists of James, an autonomous delivery robot for inter-floor transport, and W Station, an unmanned automated parcel locker, aiming to enhance the convenience of residents’ living spaces. They are simultaneously targeting the Japanese and Korean markets and have received pre-Series A investment from FuturePlay and Humax.

Connecteve: Connectiv develops AI-based medical diagnostic assistance software and surgical robots. Founded by an orthopedic professor from Seoul National University, the company combines specialized medical AI and robotics to address the aging society and plans to launch products domestically and internationally in the second half of the year. Connectiv has raised Series A funding from DSC Investment, Schmidt, and Stonebridge.

Tesollo: Tesollospecializes in developing robot end-effectors, manufacturing core components for robots. They research, develop, and supply differentiated robot grippers and automation solutions utilizing them. Tesoro has received pre-Series A investment from KB Investment and BNH Investment.

Hurotics: Hurotics’ core solution is a medical software-wearable robot suit, offering wearable robot services for running training, golf swing posture correction, and more. They have secured pre-Series A investment from Aju IB Investment, Wonik Investment Partners, and Korea Credit Guarantee Fund.

Hucasystem: Hucasystem develops comprehensive upper and lower body rehabilitation robots and solutions. Their robots provide real-time visual gait information and allow for the adjustment of rehabilitation levels. They have been recognized as an innovative startup product by Sejong City. Hucasystem has received pre-Series A investment from TPC Mechatronics.

Lee Ki-dae, head of the Startup Alliance Center, stated, “The theme for this event was decided at the request of media. Witnessing promising startups from their early stages and observing their growth will be a valuable learning experience for the media.”
