S. Korea offers $45K grants to foreign startups

sungho-choo - 2024 August 12

The Korean government is recruiting foreign entrepreneurs who have started businesses in Korea and providing support such as funding for business development.

This announcement aims to promote domestic startup creation by foreign entrepreneurs with technological capabilities. The recruitment targets (prospective) startups established in Korea by foreigners. Eligible companies should have a non-Korean national as the founder and be within 7 years of establishment. If selected, they can receive up to 60 million won($45K) in funding for business model development and product/service enhancement in Korea.

The South Korean government recently opened a Global Startup Center aimed at supporting foreign entrepreneurs looking to establish businesses in the country.

Selected companies will be connected with the Global Startup Center, which will provide one-stop consulting for foreign startups, visa (OASIS) education, assistance with visa and company registration processes, recruitment support, investment consultation meetings, and networking opportunities.

Applications can be submitted through this website until September 6th.
