The fifth Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Oh Youngju, took office on January 2.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it held an inauguration ceremony for the fifth minister, Oh Youngju, at the Aulim Hall on the fourth floor of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups building in Sejong, with more than 200 people in attendance. Minister Oh said that she will do her best to listen to the field of SMEs and small businesses and prepare helpful policies.
Minister Oh began her public outreach by visiting startups and traditional markets. She visited Torder, a tablet ordering solution platform to encourage employees working during the holidays and to discuss management know-how, pain points, and government policy suggestions. She also visited Jongro Plaza Traditional Market to hear how small businesses have collaborated with traditional market vendors to revitalize the traditional market and to encourage the vendors.
“Local creators will become a new economic engine for Korea particularly by revitalizing commercial districts,” Oh said, “and we will promote policies to stabilize their management.”
