Korea Fintech Week Kicks Off Highlighting Potential of AI and Personalization of Finance

The Financial Services Commission announced that the 2025 Korea Fintech Week has kicked off on November 26 for three days until November 28 at aT Center in Seoul with participation from major domestic and overseas fintech businesses, financial companies, associated institutions, and foreign governments and international organizations. This year’s global fintech expo has been organized to be the largest ever in terms of scale with 99 exhibition booths and 128 businesses and organizations participating and showcasing a variety of seminars and programs. As such, visitors have shown strong interest for joining this year’s Korea Fintech Week as the volume of pre-registration more than doubled from the level seen in the previous year.

On the first day, the K-Fintech 30 Selection Ceremony was held to award certificates to fintech companies, with 10 promising companies receiving honors this year. The 10 selected companies were Gradehealth Chain, Design & Practice, Metsakuur Company, Buycell Standard, Soohoio, Steppay, Orange Square, Olla Fintech, Quarterback Group, and Higher Diversity. Among them, Orange Square and Design & Practice shared their growth stories on site.

In the fintech exhibition hall consisting of 99 booths, visitors could directly experience the latest fintech services and explore technology trends. The fintech exhibition hall was organized into four spaces: Fintech Hall, Finance Hall, Global Hall, and Cooperation Hall. As the event made strides toward becoming a global exhibition this year, the Global Hall was expanded from 15 institutions last year to 31 institutions, showcasing the latest fintech trends from a global perspective. In the Fintech Hall, leading domestic fintech companies showcased innovative fintech services and technologies, while the Finance Hall featured financial companies presenting new services that combine fintech with traditional financial services.

Exhibition halls have been organized into fintech hall, finance hall, global hall, and collaboration hall. This year, the size of the global hall has been expanded significantly from 15 overseas organizations participating last year to 31 organizations this year.

At the fintech hall, major domestic fintech firms will showcase their innovative fintech services. At the finance hall, financial companies will demonstrate how traditional financial services get a makeover through convergence with fintech services. At the global hall, overseas unicorn fintechs will participate to showcase globally leading financial technologies. At the collaboration hall, local governments and related organizations, universities, and venture capital businesses will take part to show support for the growth of the fintech ecosystem.

Fintech solutions from tech companies such as Naver Pay and Kakao Pay were also available, in addition to startups. Kakao Pay introduced its generative artificial intelligence (AI) service brand “Pay AI” and one-stop overseas travel services under the concept “Kakao Pay: Finance Tailored to You.” Naver Pay showcased its offline integrated terminal, Npay Connect. Toss operated a cafe-concept booth, unveiling Face Pay, a face recognition-based simple payment service, and six new services utilizing AI and data technology.

Seoul Fintech Lab also set up a booth showcasing fintech solutions from its resident companies. At the 2nd Seoul Fintech Lab, four resident companies were present: WeCommit, Oneline AI, Inovat, and ConexioH.

Throughout the three-day event, visitors can take part in more than a dozen scheduled seminars and engage in in-depth discussions on global fintech trends, AI-fostered fintech models, digital assets, fintech investment, etc. A number of world-renowned experts and speakers are expected to join these seminars to share their expertise, while all seminar proceedings will be broadcast live through YouTube to enable access from virtually anywhere in the world.
