South Korea Showcases K-Tech Startups at GITEX 2025

sungho-choo - 2025 October 16

The South Korean government has made a significant push at GITEX 2025 in Dubai by establishing a unified Korea Pavilion to showcase a record number of domestic startups and foster their global expansion into the Middle East. Running from October 13-17 at GITEX Global, the region’s largest IT expo, the comprehensive national pavilion serves as a central hub for Korean innovation

Within this government-led pavilion, various agencies are providing specialized support to the participating companies. The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) is managing the pavilion’s overall operation and facilitating business connections for the nearly 100 featured companies specializing in AI, software, and ICT equipment. KOTRA is working in close collaboration with the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), and the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement to ensure a cohesive presence.

This collaborative approach includes operating a dedicated Korea Robotics Pavilion to highlight the nation’s robotics industry, a core component of physical AI.

The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), in partnership with KISA, is specifically backing a record 30 domestic blockchain companies, providing them with opportunities for investor relations and export consultations. Meanwhile, NIPA is hosting the K-Digital Contents Pavilion, which features eight innovative companies in immersive tech, AI, and Web3. Regional governments have also joined the effort. The technoparks of Incheon, Busan, and Daegu are collaboratively running the Korea Blockchain Pavilion to support 21 companies from their respective regions at the “Future Blockchain Summit” within GITEX.

Separately, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED) are supporting 10 investment-ready startups at the affiliated GITEX North Star event, focusing on high-growth sectors like energy and healthcare. Complementing this, the Korea Innovation Foundation (INNOPOLIS) is showcasing 10 R&D-based startups in DeepTech and BioTech at its own INNOPOLIS Pavilion at GITEX Expand North Star.
