S.Korea Opens Applications for the ‘2025 K-Startup Grand Challenge’

Applications are now open for the 2025 K-Startup Grand Challenge, an inbound startup support program hosted by the South Korean government. Since its inception in 2016, the K-Startup Grand Challenge has been dedicated to attracting promising international startups and facilitating their entry into the South Korean market.

The program targets overseas startups with a strong desire to expand into South Korea. Selected participants will receive comprehensive support crucial for establishing a presence in the Korean market. This includes assistance with company incorporation, provision of office space, and visa acquisition. Furthermore, successful startups can receive prize money of up to KRW 100 million .

Since its launch, the K-Startup Grand Challenge has significantly contributed to the Korean startup ecosystem. By 2023, the program had supported a total of 449 international teams, leading to the establishment of 226 domestic corporations and the issuance of 425 startup visas.

Building on this success, the program is expanding its reach in 2025, increasing the number of participating teams to 80. This year’s challenge will feature an enhanced, business-friendly program designed to alleviate the burdens faced by international startups and strengthen practical business support.
