Alternative Protein Startup INTAKE Raises KRW 13.5B in Series C Funding

Seoul-based bio and food tech company INTAKE has raised KRW 13.5 billion in Series C funding to accelerate its alternative protein business.

Notable participants in the Series C round include HB Investment, CJ Investment, Woori Venture Partners, KDB Sanyeon Capital, JCB Investment, Wonik Investment Partners, and IBK.

Founded in 2013, INTAKE operates at the intersection of B2C and B2B food innovation, connecting consumers with alternative food products while also supporting alternative protein producers with microbial-based solutions. The company reported a 30% year-over-year revenue growth in 2024, reaching KRW 22.4 billion, signaling growing demand for sustainable protein sources.

The newly secured capital will be directed toward R&D efforts and global infrastructure development, with a focus on scaling its microbial-based protein technologies.
