Artificial intelligence service platform Wrtn Technologies has secured an additional 830 million KRW in funding, completing its Series B round at a total of 108 billion KRW. This latest investment brings Wrtn Technologies’ cumulative funding to approximately 130 billion KRW. Notably, it marks the first AI app service company in South Korea to secure an investment exceeding 100 billion KRW, a distinction previously reserved for large-scale language model (LLM) and AI semiconductor development firms.
The funding round was led by Goodwater Capital, with continued backing from existing investors BRV Capital Management, Capstone Partners, Woori Venture Partners, Suizenreis Partners, Antler, and Z Venture Capital (ZVC).
Established in 2021, Wrtn Technologies does not develop proprietary AI models but instead leverages existing AI technologies, including ChatGPT and Claude, to deliver AI-driven search portals and chatbot services. Since its launch in 2023, Wrtn’s platform has rapidly expanded, now boasting five million monthly active users. The company has demonstrated strong revenue growth, achieving 2 billion KRW in monthly revenue by December 2024, doubling its earnings from November, primarily driven by its character chat service.
Wrtn Technologies plans to officially launch its character chat service as an independent web and app platform, branded as “Crack.” Simultaneously, the core Wrtn service will undergo a comprehensive overhaul next month, introducing AI search functionalities, productivity tools, and a “build your own AI” feature to enhance user experience.
