The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) hosted the Deep Tech Value-Up Meetup Day, a key initiative designed to promote open innovation between top startups nurtured by MSS and leading global conglomerates.
The Deep Tech Value-Up program, launched to enhance collaboration between startups and major corporations, saw Hyundai Motor Company select six promising startups last year—Deep Insight, Inchemes, Rowane, Tesolo, Flyleaf, and Floatic—for joint projects.
For this year’s joint meetup, 26 startups were chosen based on a demand survey conducted by large enterprises in January. These startups were recommended by regional creative economy innovation centers, ensuring alignment with industry needs and innovation potential.
The 2024 Deep Tech Value-Up program will see participation from seven major corporations, including Hyundai Motor Company, which took part in last year’s pilot. New participants include Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, LG Science Park, POSCO Holdings, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, and KT.
Through this initiative, a total of 50 startups will be selected to receive support of up to 200 million won, reinforcing the government’s commitment to fostering deep-tech innovation and strengthening the country’s startup ecosystem.
