GenGenAI, a South Korean artificial intelligence startup specializing in synthetic data technology, has secured 12 billion KRW in Series A funding. The investment round was led by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), which contributed approximately 6 billion KRW, acquiring a 9.87% stake and becoming the company’s second-largest shareholder.

GenGenAI develops generative AI-powered synthetic data solutions that enable the rapid creation of high-quality datasets, often difficult or impossible to collect in real-world environments. Its technology is particularly valuable in the defense sector, where data collection is both challenging and requires high levels of accuracy and diversity.
The company’s flagship product, GenGenStudio, is a synthetic data generation platform that reduces data collection time by up to 90% and lowers costs by more than 50%, significantly enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of AI training processes. Earlier this year, the platform earned GenGenAI an AI Innovation Award at CES 2025.
With this latest funding, GenGenAI’s total investment has reached approximately 17 billion KRW since its founding in January 2022. The company has rapidly positioned itself as a leader in AI-driven synthetic data generation, particularly in defense and security applications.
