Rebellions, an AI chip startup, is set to merge with Sapeon Korea, a subsidiary of SK Telecom. The two entities plan to establish an integrated corporation by the end of this year, with Rebellions absorbing Sapeon Korea through an acquisition.
Sapeon Korea, a specialist in AI chips, was spun off from SK Telecom’s internal R&D organization in 2016. Following the merger, SK Telecom will continue to be a strategic investor in the unified company.
Earlier this year, Rebellions achieved a corporate valuation of 800 billion won and successfully secured $124 million in Series B funding.
