Coptiq, a South Korean company behind personalized eyewear brand Breezm, has secured KRW 10 billion in Pre-IPO funding from Seven Bridge Private Equity, bringing its cumulative capital raised to KRW 29 billion.
The investment was structured as KRW 7 billion in new shares and KRW 3 billion in secondary shares purchased from existing shareholders. Seven Bridge Private Equity said it decided to invest because Coptiq “has built a strong growth foundation by expanding its domestic and international store network,” and cited the company’s mid-to-long-term growth potential through smart glasses development and channel expansion via a U.S.-focused commerce app.
Coptiq has already selected KB Securities as lead underwriter for a planned initial public offering and is in the process of preparing for listing.
Founded in South Korea in May 2017, Coptiq operates Breezm, a personalized eyewear brand that combines AI facial scanning and 3D printing technology to design and manufacture glasses tailored to each customer’s individual face shape and lifestyle. The company has built its market position in Korea’s personal eyewear segment around this custom design-and-manufacturing capability, distinguishing itself from mass-produced eyewear brands.
Coptiq said it will use the new capital to expand Breezm’s network of authorized franchise stores nationwide in Korea, open additional stores in the United States, and strengthen its online commerce channels. The company also plans to invest in smart glasses development, aiming to extend its personalized eyewear design and manufacturing capabilities into the next-generation wearable eyewear market.
