Google for Startups Accelerator Korea wraps up fifth cohort with demo day spotlighting 14 AI startups

Google has successfully concluded the 2024 cohort of its Google for Startups Accelerator program in Korea, which has been running since April, and hosted a demo day at The Shilla Seoul on July 15. Over the course of the event, 14 AI startups that completed the 10‑week intensive program presented their technology and business progress, underscoring the innovation potential driving the future of Korea’s AI startup ecosystem.

Launched in 2021 and now in its fifth year, Google for Startups Accelerator Korea supports early-stage domestic startups building AI‑powered services, leveraging Google’s AI technologies and global expert network to help founders solve technical challenges and prepare for global expansion. Interest in this year’s cohort rose sharply, with applications from hundreds of startups—around 50% more than last year—competing for a place, from which 14 companies with strong synergy with Google’s AI stack and global growth potential were selected.

This year also illustrated a virtuous cycle within Google’s broader startup support ecosystem, as many of the selected companies previously joined “Changgu,” a program co‑run by Google Play, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development. Companies that showed promise in their early stages through Changgu have now advanced to AI‑focused scaling and global expansion via Google for Startups Accelerator, demonstrating how stage‑appropriate support can translate into meaningful outcomes for Korean startups.
